Hattiloo Theatre is one of few free-standing, independent Black theaters in America. The company honors its responsibility to celebrate the cultural contributions Blacks have made to the nation's cultural canon by producing plays by Black playwrights and showcasing the talents of Black performers in non-Black works. While Hattiloo identifies itself as a Black repertory, many of its plays have multiracial casts and production teams.

Lafayette’s Music Room is the hottest spot for great music and delicious cuisine in Overton Square. The concept behind the restaurant is for it to be a place where people can eat, drink and listen to great music in an intimate setting.
