Hopdoddy Construction Nearing Completion

Hopdoddy, an Austin, Texas-based burger bar, has filed a $700,000 building permit application with construction code officials for tenant improvements at its new location in Overton Square.

In March, property owners Loeb Properties Inc. announced the new restaurant would move into an expanded 3,500-square-foot site at 6 S. Cooper St. that previously was occupied by YoLo Frozen Yogurt & Gelato, with a tentative opening date this fall.

Founded in 2010, the popular burger chain primarily operates out of Texas, Arizona, California and Colorado. Memphis will be the restaurant’s first location east of the Mississippi River.

Take the Overton Square Art Tour

Overton Square isn’t just a great destination: it’s a playground for public art and art installations.

In partnership with students at Memphis College of Art, Overton Square has created an art tour, where guests are self-guided throughout the entertainment district to discover all the beautiful, funny, interactive and surprising hidden artistic gems the space has to offer. All art installations in Overton Square were designed specifically for the space by local artists.

Find the art tour guide here to guide you through interesting sculptures like “Gyroscopic,” vibrant murals such as “Overton Square Redux,” and interactive displays like “Three Kings.”
