Today, Eater returns to Memphis, Tennessee, to focus on 10 newish bars and restaurants that have been reeling in the locals. We asked Memphis writer Andy Meek to tell us his picks for the hottest openings of the past 12 months or so.
Among his selections, a sizzling-hot snow cone shop (Jerry’s Sno Cones), a ramen truck gone brick-and-mortar (Lucky Cat), and a classic diner from two barbecue vets (Sunrise Memphis). For the latest and greatest in the city known for blues, Elvis, and smoked meat, here’s the Eater heatmap to Memphis, Tennessee.

17 Berkshire owner Nuha Abuduhair opened her shop full of pastel-colored desserts in Overton Square a few months ago. It has since become a go-to spot for authentic French macarons, as well as the other beautifully decorated cakes and chocolates that helped make Abuduhair famous on social media. This is a personal project for the hobbyist-turned-pro baker: The shop’s name is also the address of her childhood home.
