Though Hopdoddy Burger Bar is based in Austin, Texas, it's doing its best to make its soon-to-open Overton Square location feel Memphis-y.
The word "local" adorns the restaurant's exterior, and Hopdoddy brand manager Erin Fohn made a point to highlight the numerous menu items that will be unique to the Memphis location — a breakfast burger, a set of gourmet french fries, some milkshakes and multiple mixed drinks.
In addition, the restaurant is set to donate $1 to Stax Music Academy for every Goodnight/Good Cause burger it sells.
"We saw them perform last night," Fohn said Wednesday, "and they're literally unbelievable."
Set to open Monday at 11 a.m., the restaurant will feature a full bar and baked-from-scratch buns; customers stand in line to order. It will employ about 80 people, Fohn said.
Along with its Overton Square restaurant, the company is planning to open an East Memphis location at the corner of Poplar Avenue and Perkins Extd., according to a building permit filed last May.
