First, it was Paulette’s (a French/Hungarian restaurant that’s now on Mud Island). Then, it was Schweinehaus, with German food and big steins. Then, it was Stanley BBQ.
Later this year, the spacious white building in Overton Square will be something entirely new: an upscale “Southern-inspired” restaurant founded by Edward Bogard and co-owned by Lionel Hollins and Preston Butts. Yes, that Lionel Hollins. (!!)
BOGARD stands for “Buying One Give Another Rare Dish”, which refers to the restaurant’s unique approach to giving back.
In the press release from Overton Square, it’s reported that BOGARD will provide a meal to a Mid-Southerner in need for every meal purchased (via a partnership with the Mid-South Food Bank).
