Thanks to the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, the Tape Art Crew is returning to the 901!
Last May, they brought their talent and tape to the facade of the museum and starting September 13th, the artists will make their way around town creating public murals, holding workshops, and creating a community collaborative project in Overton Square.
These projects are made possible due to generous donors who purchased a popular auction item during this year’s Grand Auction – the chance to collaborate with Tape Art founder Michael Townsend and creative director Leah Smith on a mural at a site of the buyer’s choosing. The mural will be on display for one week and afterwards will be removed, formed into a ball, and placed on view at the Brooks.
Saturday, September 16:
- 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. Community collaborative project in Tower Courtyard at Overton Square (Tape the Square)
Sponsored by Mary and Bob Loeb.
