The 9:01: Things to do in April and more

Welcome to a new month. We think of May as festival month in Memphis, but April (and, later, September) probably have as much of a claim across the city. Here are five (or so) things happening in Memphis this month.

4. Everybody Hollerin' Crawfish: May might be for barbecue, but crawfish takes over the city each April. Personally, I can't abide them unless they're breaded and fried (too much work), but I'll eat corn, potato and sausage, have a beer, and enjoy the weather. The Overton Square Crawfish Festival is April 8. The Harbor Town Crawfish Festival is April 15. The Cooper-Young Community Farmers Market Crawfish Boil is April 22. And the Rajin' Cajun Crawfish Festival, Downtown, is April 23.
