With all the great things going on in the 901 these days, have you ever been overwhelmed with choices? Well, you’re in luck! We’ve put together a weekly post called The Weekender, filled with a handy schedule to help you hit some of our best bets for an amazing weekend. You can follow this schedule to a T, or use it as a launching point to plan your own adventure! The Weekender is not meant to be exhaustive, but will include our suggestions to help you plan the weekend ahead. 

Saturday, May 7th – Comic Book Day

  • 8am – Run the Bluff City 5k
  • 9am – Enjoy beignets, mimosas and more at Cafe du Memphis then check out the Latino Memphis Festival
  • 10am – Take the family to the Memphis Farmer’s Market, the Cooper Young Farmer’s Market, theCollierville Fair on the Square, Family Day at the Dixon, Dog-a-Roo Festival at Shelby Farms Park, orHorsapalooza
  • 11am – Enjoy lunch at the Midsouth Food Truck Festival
  • 1pm – Celebrate the Party for the Century at the Brooks Museum then stop by Art in the Park or this Music Festival
  • 4pm – Celebrate the 142nd Kentucky Derby at this Derby Party or Get Down & Derby, or enjoy comedy atMemphis Nites
  • 5pm – Still need a gift for Mom? Go to this Studio Sale or this expo/fashion show
  • 6pm – See Memphis the Musical to Benefit A Step Ahead Foundation (use discount code CHOOSE901 for $10 off)

Sunday, May 8th – Mother’s Day

  • 10:30am – Celebrate Mom with brunch at the Memphis Botanic Garden, the Peabody Hotel, eighty3,Bleu, No 2 Vance, Lafayette’s, or Fleming’s
  • 1pm – Have a Sunday Funday at High Cotton
  • 3pm – Take Mom to Paint and Sip or the last day of the Urban Barn Market
  • 6pm – Enjoy live music with Mom at the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and Picnic at the Dixon
