Square Moves: 2014 Big Year for Overton Square’s Growth

This year saw the continuation of Overton Square’s comeback, with another flurry of openings and moves to the square as the site of crowds and the sound of music continues to increasingly fill the restaurant and entertainment district.

The proximate cause of the activity at the square this year – including the openings of Lafayette’s Music Room, Robata Ramen Bar, Belly Acres and the Zebra Lounge Piano Bar, among others – is the millions of dollars invested in the square by Loeb Properties. Loeb helped connect the dots between the district’s past and what its future could be, with the redevelopment as much about preserving what works about the square as well as helping chart its new chapter.
