A bustling Friday night crowd is a huge contrast to what the area looked like a long time ago.
The Memphis restaurant Golden India was in Overton Square during those lean years.
"It was dead, it was dead," recalled owner Amandeep Kaur. "But now, it's like booming."
They're now serving customers they would have never seen before.
"It's really good, we've got lots of new customers," Kaur added. "And it's like, we've been busy actually, more busy than before."
There was amazing growth in the square in 2014. In fact, there is only one vacant storefront available on Madison Avenue. It's one of only three complex-wide. In fact, 96 percent of stores are occupied in the area.
